Women's Bible Study

We are excited to begin our Fall Women’s Bible study with “The Chosen”, a DVD series which brings to life the people and stories we have read about in the New Testament.

This 8-week program portrays Jesus and His chosen disciples in such a realistic way that the audience feels like they are right there as it happens. “The Chosen” is Bible based and is not like a Hollywood movie. The background stories of Mary Magdalene, Matthew, Peter and Nicodemus, to name a few, are so enlightening. These names that we have read about in the Bible become real and we find that we can relate to them here and now. If you have never seen an episode or even if you have already viewed “The Chosen”, please join us on Monday evenings, and you will not be disappointed. One member who has seen Season 1 says “At the end of each episode, I am left wanting more.” In the words of Amanda and Dallas Jenkins, the creators of “The Chosen”, “While intimately connected to ‘The Chosen’ TV series, we hope our character based approach in this Bible study will get readers more deeply connected to Jesus. After all, Jesus – the One foretold in the Old Testament and affirmed in the New – is the One doing the choosing. And when we see Him through the eyes of those who actually met Him – the people He called while ministering on earth – we can be changed and impacted in the same way they were. Which begs the question: What does it mean to be chosen?”

We meet on Monday evenings, starting promptly at 7 pm in the Lounge. No books are necessary. Just bring your love for Jesus and a desire to know Him deeper. Come a little early to meet new, or catch up with, old friends. Questions? Please contact Ellen McCormack at 518-859-2533(cell) or mccormack.ellen@yahoo.com .

Adult Bible Study

We will be using a video study called “Framing Your Worldview” by Pastor Rick Warren and the late Charles Colson.

Everything you think about your life is shaped by your worldview, the beliefs on which you build your life. It determines how you view God, yourself and other people; good and evil, pain and suffering, the past, present and future. The study will examine world views as they relate to the most important questions of our day such as truth, tolerance and the purpose of life. As Christians, it is vital that we explore our own worldview to see if it is biblical.

Bring your Bible. Be sure to request a study guide which will be ordered for you ($9.00 donation). Contact Judy Nestlen (judithnestlen@gmail.com or 518 768 2602) to request a guide.
